Re: good beginers site
It depends on where you take it Eddie. Each club does it when they have the numbers and not when Ofcom want them to sit the exam...

Re: good beginers site
I am taking a home study course from a chap who is qualified to teach it and well known in the amateur radio circles.
I am very busy either with the work I do and travel up and down the country so attendence at a radio club is impractical for me during a week night as I am working on the night's when they hold the course localy.
I reckon I could squeze it in in a few weekends.
Its even been stated that I may qualify for a home examination due to the fact that I am also a care worker when not persuing my chosen profession..
I've got the bug now and cant wait to get on 20 Meters and catch some good DX
The thing is the time aspect for studying, but all the local fellas I know have been a gr8 help in poiniting out that home study is avilable and showing me there is no need to loose hope if I can't attend a class in the evening.
It will then be just a case of finiding the nearest centre and the earliest date.
The next date avilable will be good for me.
I guess its a case of where there is a will there is a way
