Antenna section ? Empty Antenna section ?

Post by M6MRP Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:04 pm

Hi, sorry to post this here but I cannot access the comments section? just wondering if it would be possible to have an antenna section on this forum? (if there is one already sorry I cant find it) after evicting some nasty tennants and moving back into this "stuck in a hole" horrible qth I have been collecting information and trying many home brew antennas to find one that is good for this location, during this quest I have collected many pdf antenna free to share handouts and releases non of which are copyrighted, there is some wonderfull information for those wishing to build there own antennas rather than laying out the silly money expected by commercial builders, I would happily share these with the forum if a section is created please.
Also on my newest experiment to home brew a lower powered cheaper version of a comercial antenna by Sirio which is getting realy good reviews at the moment (and so far with what I have it rightly deserves it) I have need of some phase/shunt matching advice which somebody on here may have some helpfull advice about but this would need people to see my jpeg build plans first.
Just a thought.

Hi Phil,

I will add an antenna section to the forum now. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll also look into why you can't access the Comments Area.

I think, like with photo's that pdf's need hosting. That is you put a link to the site they are on. Or you could convert them to a photo format & use the sites hosting, as that will not accept pdf's for hosting. With a photo the image will be shown & not a link to the image.

Hi Phil

Yes I have just had a look, you are correct, but I am sure the board administrater can add it to all pages if he wishes or maybe just have a special page for posting files.

I have downloaded your posting to my hard drive to print off later.

Antenna section ? Empty Well spotted!

Post by 2W0PWR Thu Jul 26, 2012 4:31 am

That's well spotted, I think the reason it shows as 0mb is the fact that we are limited to storage in the Gallery as it is a great cost for the little benefit that it could have.

The forum is an ongoing cost and I try to keep it value for money and spend the money on features that benefit everyone.

If anyone really wants to use the gallery then please let me know and I'll have another look at the cost again.

Thanks lads,

Dave

Antenna section ? Empty Re: Antenna section ?

Post by M6MRP Thu Jul 26, 2012 6:59 am

Just as easy to post links to a free hoster like photobucket for photos Dave and the pdf upload which takes up less space is working here but not on the antenna section, so I will type up a list of the antenna pdfs for the antenna section and if anybody is interested I could post up here untill they have downloaded then it could be deleted to save space and money.
@ Alan Ive got quite a collection of pdf antenna handouts and build details so watch out I will be posting a list, the multi band delta loop works well and is not too big, I havnt tried it with the switching unit but each individual loop setup worked well.
regards
Phil
