Hi All may sound stupid but whats the best kind of antenna for 10-80m wire or vertical as im new to ham and am interested in dx rather than local contacts. and will be limited to only 10watts as taking my m6 this month.
ps money is not the issue its performance.
Many Thanks

Ask any 10 Amateurs this & you will get 15 different answers.
A 10 to 80 meter antenna is a compromise antenna. Best performance is always achieved using a resonant antenna & if it's DX that you want to work, then get something that is resonant on 20 & 15 meters for this & then get a multiband compromise antenna for 80 through 10 meters.
Something like a Off Centre Dipole (Windom) or an end fed inverted L wire that is tuned at the feed point with a remote tuner are reasonable compromise antennas that may give you general coverage of all bands, but not be excellent any where.
If you want to make the best of your 10 watts then have a look at the digital modes. Things like PSK will allow you yo be very much on a par with everyone else, as power levels are normally low for digital modes & 30 watts from what I have seen is the norm.
P.S. Welcome to the forum & the hobby.
