i have been asked to take part in the ORMSKIRK FUN DAY
special events station GB5OFD.not sure on all the details yet but probley HF and 2M .listen out for us.

Will give it a go but only got the Watson W-300 on the shed at the moment. I am going to set a wire antenna up over the weekend but very busy tomorrow getting the shed lined and electric fitted!

The reason the callsign was changed was because the event we were attending was initially to be called the 'Ormskirk Fun Day'. However, unbeknown to me the event organisers renamed it to 'Park Praise Funday'. We were obliged to change the callsign otherwise GB5OFD would have been referencing a non-existant event.

welcome to the forums derek, it was a great day,not sure on how meny contacts will try and get an up date on the club net tomorrow.even though it was very windy, the inverted v and the vertical stayed up with no problems.i got sun burn on my face,(i was sat out side the tent selling raffle tickets) we had a few people asking how to get a licence and a few saying why dont you just use a phone,.sorry i cant make next weeks even but i will be at the mg owners club even in september.

Can you confirm the call sign for the Special Event Station? Was it GB5PPF or GB7PPF as stated on your club website-
