Out on HF Sunday 23rd March

I went out today on Halkyn Mountain with my G5RV and worked two station in the States so I am planning another day on the radio tomorrow. Take a look at the website for more info and I also have a eQSL card from Jim W3TO.

I am planning on going down nr the sea tomorrow in Greenfield, just outside Holywell. I hope to be setup by 09.00 with the G5RV if I can find anywhere to stand the pole up...

I am sorry we couldn't make the contact today on 40m Simon but better luck next time when your G5RV has had a health check.

There is a sort of antenna now up and rx 40m and also 20m. Had a sstv qso with Ukraine today but the band is rather bitty but am sure as hell there listening

I was getting S 8 of rubbish, so if you were there I'm sorry but the noise level was just too high. But I did try for a good 5 minutes just to see if we could do it.

Here the band is suprisingly silent at the moment, all the locals seem to have the same troubles. Either very poor or all sat with cut coax here

Well I made a few contacts into Germany today Simon so I would take a good look at the coax or remove that dummy load!!!...

Made contact with Germany, Spain, Italy, Croatia and also Taneytown (USA).

I was setup by 08.30 and took the antenna down at 14.30 so didn't spend all day on the mountain but I did have some fun.

I went down by the coast and spent 30 mins looking for a spot to put the G5RV up but was unsuccessful.

I did flick thru the bands and 18m 11m and 10m was silent.

Many thanks for trying Daxi. I also stayed shouting CQ for sometime after but just wasn't meant to be. Maybe next time mate.
