Stolen Equipment Database
Stolen Equipment Database

If your radio equipment was stolen could you remember its serial number? Have you recorded it somewhere safe?
Would you like to notify people would might potentially purchase it? Have participating shops checking on repairs and 2nd hand purchases?
Sign up to The Rig Register, a free service, and record your equipment details in a safe and easy to find place. Your equipment can marked as lost or stolen for others to check.
The Rig Register isn't just for stolen equipment. Groups and clubs can use it as an asset register and a shared login between committee and leaders would allow access to the group's or club's asset list.
Many Thanks.

Re: Stolen Equipment Database
Nice idea...How about letting people add thier credit card PIN's as well?
I can see security threat written all over this.
If anyone has a QRZ listing, a list or picture of thier shack on a forum, plus serial numbers listed, that to me is a problem waiting to happen.
All that is needed now is an I'm out sticker for the front door.

Well that’s a great weight off all our minds.... Your site
Well it must be perfect then. For I know that no database that claims to conforms to theconforms to the Data Protection Act
Has ever lost, misplaced or allowed unauthorised access to anyone’s data...HAS IT?Data Protection Act
As to an online database being hacked & personal details lost, ( more accurately, given away due to p1$$ poor security)...No that’s never happened before either has it?
Re: Stolen Equipment Database
The Act details how data should be handeled. It doesnt state perfection nor do I.
Anyone who chooses to use it does so at their own discretion.
The site is not a forum nor does it list callsigns alongside serial numbers and display pictures of shacks.
You have your own opinion which I respect.
