Forecasters Warning
-- Heavy Rain / Local Flooding --

Areas Affected: Wales, South-west England, Midlands, East Anglia, Southern England & South-east England

Rainfall associated with Storm Jette will push into the South-west later this evening and push North-east across a large swathe of England.

Many areas South of the Lancashire / South Yorkshire border will see up to 25mm (1 Inch) of rainfall with areas across the South-west up to 60mm (Just over 2 Inches) of rainfall during Tuesday.

This will bring the risk of localised flooding on already saturated ground and hazardous driving conditions.

Wednesday 30 January EARLY WARNING After a wet and windy spell of weather on Thursday, it will turn much colder during Friday and Saturday with heavy snow in places. Northern and Western Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northwest England and Wales are most at risk with 10cm in places, and up to 20cm on higher ground. This is likely to lead to transport disruption Further updates will appear here.
Wednesday 30 January WEATHER WARNING Heavy rain will affect the west of Scotland through this afternoon and overnight. Up to 60mm of rain is possile locally. Valid until 0600GMT.
