Is this the Youngest Iphone Developer?
Singaporean Lim Ding Wen just 9 years old may just be the youngest iPhone Developer. He has released an application on the Appstore, Doodle Kids - an abstract drawing application for making fun little doodles that he created to keep his little sisters entertained. The app has already been downloaded over 4000 times in just two weeks.
Even more interesting is the fact that the apps were created initially for an Apple IIGS emulator before they were ported over to the iphone, bridging an interesting compatibility (and generation) gap.
His father, Lim Thye Chean, is a technology officer at a local firm who also writes iPhone applications of is own.
“Every evening we check the statistics emailed to us (by iTunes) to see who has more downloads,” the older Lim said.
The boy’s next project is a science fiction game called “Invader Wars”.
