This rally is held on Sunday 8th June and costs £4.00 on the door. Parking is FREE.

Doors open at 08.30.

Information has been received from the Elvaston Castle Committee that the 39th Elvaston National Radio Rally due to be held on Sunday June 8th 2008 has been cancelled.
This is due to a decline in the number of Amateurs passing through the gates, etc. There will be an announcement on GB2RS, and a statement in RadCom in due course.
As you all know Elvaston Castle was the 2nd biggest Rally in the East Midlands.

So why don't they update the website? I won't believe it until its on the site.

If it is true then I will be extremely disappointed as I have heard many great things about it.

Probably not it's on the same weekend as CW National Field Day. And our club is possibly having a open weekend again on CW NFD.

Jim G0EJQ, the RSGB Regional Manager for East Midlands, Region 13, has posted the following information on the RSGB East Midlands area website:

I have just been informed by the Elvaston Castle Committee that this year's rally has been cancelled.
This is due to rising costs and the decline of Radio Amateurs coming through the gates.
There will be an annoucement on GB2RS and a statement in Radcom, in due course.
As you all know Elvaston Castle was the 2nd biggest Rally in the East Midlands.

I saw the post this morning on the RSGB site.

I was really looking forward to that one. Its a big shame when there are so many new radio hams now.
