I've never seen anyone in there when I connect, perhaps people could log-in at an agreed time for a forum real-time chat ?

Hi Andy,

It a good suggestion you have, we did have a meeting point on the forum a few years ago when we started but since then it's dwindled and I must admit I don't get on the chat much myself...

What does everyone else think?

Chatrooms and shoutbox's are ok but it does take away the meaning of "forum website" im guilty of this too on my own site lol. Its better to have the chat done in forum posts, it promotes activity and is better for search engine listings for new pages of the site.

I'd like the idea of a scheduled chatbox meetup, you can discuss real-time whats happening on rather than post, wait, wait, erm wait for a reply....

Yeah good point Lee,it does make it better for Google if you post but I think Andy is on about a bit of a chat like MSN style. I agree Andy, it is frustrating waiting for a reply. We have the built in chat box on the forum what can be used in many ways...

By rights Andy, yes it should. How much Google finds is another matter...

I was searching befor for Icom 2820 Factory Reset and on page 3 there was a link to QSOUk Commands & Settings for the D-Star post I put on last year... Here is an experement Andy, search for you're call sign / username and somewhere should be a link to the forum :-)...

Google like unique content, if it finds some it will index it.

This is why review sections are great on forum, i get over 200 hits a day just to read product reviews, if you write them from scratch they are garanteed to be unique and will get indexed for sure!

P.S. Andy, have i spoke to you on air before? i think i may have!
