Re: daves been spending...................AGAIN
Well it may be quicker if I list the things I did not buy! The main thing I bought was the Yaesu FTM-10E with bluetooth headset / board and charger for £279.99 and I must say it works quite well. The only thing I dislike is the head can't be unplugged from the cable! Not like the 706...
I bought a 100m drum of RG58 and RG213 with PL259s and a Watson W-300 duel band antenna. I also upgraded the power supply to the Watson Power Mite NF and some other things...
The G/F has know kicked me out of the house and am now living in the shed!!! Does she not understand I have my radios in it!!! lol...
Also in the shack is my old computer on XP that I got fixed and upgraded...
I am sorry I have not been on the forum but I have no broadband at home untill Monday so am using the iPhone to view the content.
All the best,
Dave.

I have just got the broadband working after spending hours on the phone to AOL and a number costing .50p PM!!! I will be getting the antenna UHF/VHF on the roof this week and will be updating my website over the next few days.

Re: daves been spending...................AGAIN
Well Simon, I got the Handheld today from Radio World and am happy cos tonight I heard some lads talking on GB3CR trying to setup thair D Star Radios for the NEW D Star repeater GB7WP setup by WADARC and has been put on test today...
Guess what, I mangaged to set the radio up and shouted in on GB7WP and had a nice chat. The repeater is on test for a short time and is not yet setup on the internet - D Star network.
Seems I got one in-time to be part of the boom!!! lol
The radio works really well! It's solid and seems to be well build. The audio is very good on the recieve and the menu layout in my opinion is very strait forward. I was reading bad reviews saying it takes time to program the radio but I found it to be ok for the programs that I have entered. The one thing that is tricky is setting up D Star repeaters but once done 2 or 3 times it should be strait forward...
The D Star will only work on B VFO and not both.
I had a contact from Colwyn Bay in the car today into Blackpool on 70cm with the rubber duck antenna so I am quite pleased about that.
Well I will try and write a little review when I have played with it. Am waiting for the GPS 175 Speaker Mic to come for it.
