Hidden is the power, and the channel options Dave. Easy to do and then makes the radio work a lot different if you know what i mean

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
And do not believe the hype! Radio will NOT MAKE 25615-30105 as some websites have told. This is NOT AT ALL TRUE, the radio makes bands A-F 25615-28305 and not anything more.
BUT
Other mods include:
Disable multi-norm settings for Austria market
Make the radio start in AM mode, and not FM at all
Other false claims that have read:
The radio makes 10w AM/FM Unstable at this power, makes 6-8w maximum
25610-30110 AM/FM False, channel expander does not give 0 ending channels
SSB is on the next version of it. NOT AT THE MOMENT CORRECT

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Indeed, this mod is the most hard, the most difficult to find. I have it, and only I know all what can do, I went to Korea for some answers, luck for some and others came from Albrecht.
PLEASE, tell it to nobody... Or then can be issues as I know who has the mod.
Check the email and let me know its there

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Hi Paul, decent mike for this would be actually any of the electret range like Maas 2020 or densei.
But remember the radio comes with a very efficient electret mike from the box so this helps a lot. If not, then a road devil from astatic as this is a noise cancelling mike

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Got the export mod done yesterday!!! I must say i let someone else do it with a bit of soldering experience as a steady hand and a fine soldering iron was needed too.... Thanks again simon.

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Radio is working 100%. It can be a bit tricky when selecting between Mhz and channel but this happens without the mod done. Thanks once again.

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
It is a fantastic radio and with the front of the radio detachable so it can be used with the main body hidden away under your car seat (or where ever you choose.) makes it more apealing. The mods that can be done to this radio are also a bonus but if you want to know what they are you best ask the wizzard himself.......

Hi Simon,
Just joined QSO.UK this moment.
I've just purchased the above cb radio, and too would like info on the mods to open this radio up.
You're probably fed up with all the requests on this.
I would appreciate any help with the Albrecht 6890.
Great site by the way.
Keep up the great work, regards Ian.

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Hi There,
What can tell you is the power mod, not the channels.
Middle of circuit on the top side is a white square, and inside a jumper. Solder it closed, and then to the left of that almost on the side of the board is another square and jumper, solder it shut and you have 6-10w AM/FM
Channel mod, sorry cannot help.. Remember this makes the warranty invalid, heats the board a lot as this is working at the very end of the radios efficiency.
Regards
Simon

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
Mof000 about the mhz and freq, maybe at a guess your radio is under the serial number 1000 at a guess? Was a programming mistake and all have this, the later ones are and will be sorted.

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
The mod was told to me, and seems not many people have it indeed. Not that it is hard, just that if was leaked too soon then all hell would have been let loose, trust me

90% of the modification here is correct for the channels and power. True there are some things missing but will get you where you need to be that is sure.

Re: Albrecht AE 6890
BUT as a ps) Remember all of these have software faults that will show up here and there so not really the best to expand, PLUS you will not use it on 28 as it ends at 28305 and not higher.
Not a big seller, the faults will not be re-done and ended until the radio enters the next production, well that is if enough are sold in the meantime.
