Re: WX IN DECEMBER 07
Hello All,
Extremely strong winds here today, in fact the wind was so strong it caused one of the guy ropes that supports my little tower to BREAK !!!
And this in turn has allowed the base of my tower to be bent
But I"m pleased to say that my Corsican Spider antenna has come through it with flying colours... its still in one piece.
I'm certainly glad that I don't use fibreglass fishing rods as spreaders.... they would have been in pieces by now !!!
Bye from a very windy Corsica island.

Re: WX IN DECEMBER 07
Some wet and wild weather around for the UK during Thursday as yet another deep area of low pressure sweeps in from the Atlantic.
Heavy rain will begin pushing into Ireland during the early morning. This will spread quickly East reaching Wales by breakfast and then the East coast by lunch time. Some impressive accumulations are likely, especially across Western facing hills where over 2 inches of rain will fall during Thursday and into Friday.
Once the rain sets in, it'll be with you for most of the day, not clearing the far South-east until Friday afternoon.
Next up in the wind, again gales are expected across the South and North of the UK with severe gales along the South-west and South coast.
Winds will continue to pick up during Thursday morning across the South-west, then into the afternoon the isobars tighten as the low deepens and gusts of up to 40mph arrive across Devon, Cornwall and then spread into Southern and South-eastern England. Winds will also pick up across the Southern Uplands and Western Isles near the centre of the low.
Into the evening and the winds continue to strengthen along the English Channel with winds of up to 70mph. Winds will die down during the evening somewhat, except for the far South-west will will hang on to the gales right through until Friday.

Re: WX IN DECEMBER 07
Rain reaching all parts by late morning. The rain locally heavy should clear towards the evening with a few showers following. Feeling chilly for much of the day with a freshening southerly wind but turning milder later.
Tonight:
Clear intervals with occasional showers. The showers mostly near the coast where a few may be heavy with possible hail. Fresh southwest winds.
Sunday:
Mostly cloudy with showers and some longer spells of rain, heavy at times. Becoming very windy especially along the coast.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Cold and windy on Monday with outbreaks of rain gradually dying out from the west. Dry, brighter and less windy on Tuesday. Remaining dry and bright for much of Wednesday.

Re: WX IN DECEMBER 07
Around 2c on the plus side at the moment, there is some rain and fog also. Heavy snow during the early part of last evening, and that seems now to have passed.
Forcast here for the next days is getting colder, seems that Greenfingers is sending the frost and cold weather this way onwards
