Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
I've found a place selling these for £43, granted I imagine they won't have the signal meter output, but it will otherwise be exactly the same radio yes?

It will be the same radio on the whole, the differences are these:
s-meter socket
tuned rx/tx
audio mods are not carried out
rU band not enabled, although easy
And nice price also it must be said

Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
Thanks Simon,
The local CB dealer used to shall we say optimise the settings on all the radios he sold, a shame he's no-longer in business.
For the money I may as well get one to try

Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
Easy to mod also, behind the front display i think on the bottom left is a blank solder space, close it and rU, PX, rC all appear as if by magic.
Radio is a nice one, seems to work well whether it be normal or tuned. Strong and clear AM (like all) and a little less powerful but strong on FM

Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
tti 550 now in my hands, a friend tells me the audio is very quiet, I've tweaked it up a bit but really need to get a resonant aerial up to do more checks.
Also did the solder mod which was a 2 second job although it is does require a very steady hand, now I just need to work out which channels relate to which frequency.

Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
The channels are as follows: WHEN IN EXPORT RU BAND
band a) 25615-26055
band b) 26065-27505 called the lo lo band
band c) 26515-26955 lo band, legal in Germany
band d) 26965-27405 CEPT, MIDS
band e) 27415-27855 hi band, where ssb call freq sits on channel 12
band f) 27865-28305 high high in old days, ends in 10m amateur
Audio is quiet as legal limit is 1.4 to 1.6khz. Can be changed like the channels but makes the radio illegal and open for confiscation if caught
PO Channels are the same as above but ending in ZERO (25610-26060 and so onwards)
Radio goes upwards to 30mhz but not needed and above 28000 is amateur 10m and not a place to be with an FM/AM Radio

Re: tti-550 Hans Kucha Version
Hi, I wondered if you knew settings for 10m AM & FM on the Ham band please, for someone who has a proper license of course.
