Re: Cobra is Coming Back Baby
The new Cobra 19DX IV EU hits the market in September, its a multi-norm for the EU market and has the normal UK/CEPT, German, Italian and other channels inside.
Like the original AM version from the USA with new guts inside. Also has AM in the right configuration.
Yes it does have mods, and around 70euro when hits the market. Made in China and seems to have some small look from either Intek or Maxon here and there, it is NOT Maxon am lead to believe but inside there are some hints that this version is not ALL Cobra ideas that is for sure.... Intek factory me think

Re: Cobra is Coming Back Baby
Looks simple and robust, like a radio good for mobile use should be - I like the look of the Maxon CM10 for the same reason.
What's worse than a load of buttons, knobs and switches when you're going along the road? - thinking about it, I know - a load of beeps associated with every control! (like my Harry II).
Cheers
Gary

Re: Cobra is Coming Back Baby
Metal cased where the USA version is plastic cased, there are not any processor noises and it does work really well indeed. All that is needed are two small things:
a) another mike, the original is not the best
b) allignment of the s-meter, thats it

Re: Cobra is Coming Back Baby
Hi Simon,
It's a shame that, in an age of cheap to produce and reliable electronics, they can't get the quality right.
I've been enjoying your videos on youtube.
Just got back into 11 metres after a 25 year break. I still have my Cybernet York JCB863 and my President AR-7 up in the loft. No need for them as I have a Lincoln!
73,
Ian
