had some spear time at work today so i had a drive up ashurst beacon and let the rig scan on 2m.after abit i picked up a qso on 144.835.i could here a japan station and another talking,also a few uk and a usa station,it sounded like a repeater but simplex,after a short time it gave out its ident mb7isw an echolink node.looking on the net ,its only tx 5 watts.not sure of the distance but must be about 30-40 miles.i will have to have another scan soon.

Same as here, sometimes you hear California loudly and could not find out anything and then suddenly like you its an echolink node. That is a great addition to the hobby, a perfect combination and mix of internet and radio
