Re: Ranger 2950DX
This radio I have used recently on an Activation to some islands in Slovakia and Hungary and it has never missed a beat, yes got warm but worked all the time making some 300+ contacts in 23 countries. I like mine that is a fact

Re: Ranger 2950DX
I have one and also like it. It's very easy to use with no bands!! From 24MHz to 32MHz in one go!
The radio looks nice and tidy. The only thing I don't like is the signal meter but each to there own!!!

Re: Ranger 2950DX
I just traded in the baby brother of this radio the Ranger VR900 for a linear amp so I have had experience of running a Ranger.
If I am being honest, I was never very impressed with the RX on my one, the needle would always bounce across regardless of if a station was talking or if it was just mush. The speaker seemed to small and was harsh and on the 'top end' of the audio side when listening, very little bass response.
The mic was also a bit 'clunky' and the mic lead very short as well out the box.
I think a lot of the parts and boards on both the VR900 and the 2950ODX will be simmilar.
All I can say is my experience of my Ranger rig wasnt a positive one.

Re: Ranger 2950DX
It depends on the version and who has been tinkering inside i think?
CRT, Sommerkamp have them branded also and was not so impressed.
The ones Fusion sell, and that is not name dropping does work well. The cycle is not the best at the moment and mine was working well with the standard power and Antron. Was really suprised

Awesome station Pascal one zero two!
Mine was working well from Hungary and that was with standard power with no amplifier. Am sure you will be delighted with it
