Re: Wrexham Radio Club Contest
I know this is off topic.
But Wroxam. Which is one of the best known towns in the Norfolk Broads, has something in common with Wrexham.
A cash point.
It's many years ago now, but Barclays has a branch in both towns & put the welsh language machine in Wroxham & not Wrexham.

Re: Wrexham Radio Club Contest
Well today is the first day of the contest and didn't go as planned.
We started setting the beam up at 08.30 but with so much to do we didn't get it all sorted until 12.00 ish.
We started checking the SWR and setting the power to 400w and the linear was playing up. The relays were sticking so made it almost impossible to use. After the lads had taken the thing to bits 2 or three times we got it working about 14.00 and started in the contest.
Unfortunately the owner of the shack Adrian MW1LCO had to close the station down at 16.30 due to ill health in the family.
We hope to have a better day tomorrow and work as many stations as possible.
Dave
P.S. I will post some pics after the contest is over tomorrow night.
