Cobra 148 GTL - NEW versions Empty Cobra 148 GTL - NEW versions

Post by Guest Thu Dec 27, 2007 6:05 pm

I am considering importing a new Cobra 148 GTL from the US as a second rig to use around at the folks house.

OK , I know it has no FM and some will say the Superstar 3900 is just the same but in my opinion, nothing beat the Cobra 148 in RX selectivity.

I wont touch a Cobra 2000 as the only thing Cobra about those turkies is the snake on the front, had chance to use one and didnt like it at all.

So out of nostalga as well, I am going for the Cobra 148 GTL. I am getting it opened up to for full coverage over 26 - 28 MHZ.

Has anybody used one of the new 148's or can point me to any reviews.

Better choice would be the 158EDX RangerStar or indeed the 3900 as the new 148's are from the same bed as was the 200. And the sole people that can make those babies do something is CW's
