auto atu?
can anyone recommend an auto atu which is compatible with an icom 706 mk1?

Try an LDG. For thier price they are exellent.
The AT-100 is designed to work automatically with Icom 706, I think.
And the Z11proII will work with anything. Just press a button.
The Z-11 costs around £150 & the AT 100 is just under £200.
The Z-11 can have a battery pack fitted VERY easily & can thus be used remotely with an end fed or in the field.

thanks for that,cath asked me what i wanted for christmas so i asked for a auto atu, so this will give her some ideas of price.
