Imax 2000 and Yaesu817nd
I am the owner (although having seen the thread on here about the 817) of a well bodged 817 and an Imax 2000.
The 817 is an ace little radio and it rx's better than my 747. Age difference perhaps?
I have printed out all 87 pages fm the internet and have set aside it for bedtime reading.
There are more menus on it than McDonald's have in the summer. Practice I suppose.
Scanning is a nice option.
Gonna get the Imax up soon (complete with ground-plane) in the near future. Hopefully that will out perform the A99.
The 817, from what I can see is fully opened up.
To the person who delivered the goods I hope your goods work just aswell. Pics please, no slacking!!!!!!!!
Anyone had an Imax 2000 before care to comment?
Regards.

The Imax 2000 exsposed.
I like 10 meters but it's not going to keep you very active, what antenna are you going to use on the other bands?
The Imax 2000 exsposed.
CONCLUSION: The Imax 2000 will easily outperform the Antron 99 and other 1/2 wave antennas like the popular 'Ringo'. Adding the GPK-1 ground plane kit will provide a significant improvement in gain on the horizon, which will noticeably improve local communications. With the wide availability and reasonable price of the Imax 2000, it is easy to suggest this antenna to the 10 and 11 meter enthusiast who desires top performance, and a more visually low profile fiberglass antenna.

I can only SWL on the other bands. Thanks BTW for the link.

Is there a general random board or have I missed it?

I had an Imax 2000, and funnily enough a ft817, can't find them this morning - very strange, but someone did leave 12 litres of vanila coke and what looks like a RPG in my proximity.
Is the radio alright ?
