Homebrew Moxon
Well I had a play last weekend after hitting the DIY store and cleaning them out of white plastic 32mm tubes and connectors and put together a Moxon.
Results look good, the beacon in the south of Holland was S9+ on the FT817 and spinning the beam round, I could get the signal to drop considerably.
There isnt much 2M activity in my part of Holland, well when I'm listening anyway but with the antenna indoors, I'm able to open up the Zandaam and Amsterdam repeater with approx 5watts.
I've tapped in values for 28Mhz on the software ( fl_moxon on Linux ) and using material kicking about the house I think I can put one together for 10M.
Sounds fun...

Re: Homebrew Moxon
When the summer gets here have a listen on 145.625 for my local repeater
GB3NB (Norfolk Broads or Norah Batty as some call her.) We get losts of
Dutch stations working it during lift conditions.
If you hear her input is 145.025 i,e - 600KHz & CTCSS is 94.8.

Going off-topic I worked GB3NB on 2M when I lived in Bedford using 25watts to a 5/8wave mobile whip on a gutter mount attached to a radiator in my bedroom.
Will listen for it.

Will look at this site, never seen this one before, I normally look at gbantennes.nl in the south to drool over antennas.
Off to do some mid-day browsing

Re: Homebrew Moxon
Well the 10M moxon experiment was a bit of a failure, too much droop when I lifted the frame up, so it would need bracing and I didnt have the materials at hand.
But it was nice to see the layout on the floor so I know I can put something on the side of the house thats not going to go outside my property.

Re: Homebrew Moxon
Depends, if I'm in a CW mood, I sit around 28.058, ssb 28.430 if I'm putting out a CQ on voice.

Re: Homebrew Moxon
I do like 10 especially now I only need 3 feet of antenna thrown across the bed with the MFJ 933.
