What power do you use?
You often hear the, but they can run more power than us argument being made, but what power do we actually normally use?
Personally I don't often operate at more than 100 watts & more often at a lot less. I do have a 500 watt linear & an old Valve HF Yaesu that when tuned well runs at an alleged 150 - 200 watts, but normally I use a FT857 or similar 100 watt radio.
I love QRP, normally run at less than 2.5 watts SSB.
Normal maximum power is.
80 - 6 meters 100 watts.
4 meters 50 watts.
2 meters & 70 CM 50 watts.

Re: What power do you use?
well as from yesterday i will be using 1 or 10watts for 2m. finally made a power lead for my yaesu ft-480r and have had some great reports simplex and via the repeater. been told the audio is top quality not bad for a rig that hasn't been used for 18yrs and not sure when it was made.could do with the ctcss pcb that plugs into the socket on the under side.
